Desktop app privacy

Your scans stay on your PC.

Your scan data stays local. Your FixMyFPS account, sign-in and subscription are processed online to provide app access. We do not upload your diagnostic scans or use advertising analytics.

What a scan reads

Frame timing for the selected game, process and system resource counters, and supported driver, power, display, and hardware information from documented Windows APIs. Network quality counters are used only for scans marked as online games.

The app does not read game memory, game files, typed text, browser data, or credentials from other apps.

Where data is kept

Scan summaries and evidence are stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FixMyFPS\history.db. Local diagnostic logs are stored in the adjacent logs folder and rotate with a seven-file limit.

Your controls

Raw traces are off by default. If enabled in Privacy, they contain structured telemetry and may include process names. Traces remain on your PC and follow the same retention and deletion controls as scan summaries.

Choose a retention period from 1 to 365 days in Privacy. Delete a single scan or all saved history from History; matching raw traces are deleted too. Deleting history does not undo settings applied by an optimization.

Your account and subscription

Cloudflare hosts our website, account database and sign-in email delivery. We store your email address, verified sign-in sessions, device connection requests and billing identifiers. Security controls may process your IP address and browser information. Sign-in codes expire after five minutes; device connection codes expire after ten minutes. Sessions expire after 30 days unless renewed while in use.

Stripe processes your payments and manages your subscription, invoices and cancellation. We do not store your full card number. The app contacts our service to verify your membership before scanning or applying optimization. Your sign-in token is encrypted for your Windows user on this PC.

Sign out in the app to revoke and remove its saved sign-in. Delete saved diagnostics from History. Cancel future renewals using Manage billing in your account; cancellation does not automatically delete your account or Stripe billing records.

This website

This website does not receive your desktop scans. It uses no advertising or analytics scripts. Requests to this website are processed by the hosting provider to serve its pages; the desktop app’s local storage policy does not describe the provider’s service logs.
